Database Tools |
Our extensive database tools provide a complete database design environment. Whether you are designing a database from scratch, modifying an existing database or moving a legacy database to a new platform, Visual Case can help.
Visual Case allows you to:
create multiple database dictionaries in a single Visual Case project, each modeling a separate physical database
create one or more diagrams to graphically display your database design
include a table on more than one diagram without having to recreate it
include objects from more than one database dictionary on a diagram
create a database dictionary in Visual Case by reverse-engineering a physical database
generate a physical database or make modifications to an existing physical database using our forward-engineering tool
Visual Case has support for the following database types.
Microsoft Access 2000
Microsoft Access 97
Microsoft SQL 2000
Microsoft SQL 7
Microsoft SQL 6.5
Oracle 8
MySQL
Our engineering tools let you create a Visual Case database dictionary from an existing physical database (reverse-engineer) or create or modify a physical database from your Visual Case project. You can use the reverse-engineering functionality to create documentation. Move a database to a new platform by reverse-engineering it into Visual Case, making any required modifications and then forward-engineering it to the new platform.
Visual Case offers a sophisticated graphical SQL editor with keyword prompting, a menu of SQL statements that you can insert into your script and advanced formatting.
