Engineering Wizard - Script

(Forward-Engineering only)

DirectionDB DesignPhysical DBFormatting NamesCustomizeScript

Most of the time Visual Case produces a DDL script which is run against the physical database to make the changes required by a forward-engineer.  The only exception to this is if you are forward-engineering directly to a Microsoft Access database (using DAO instead of ODBC).

Tell me more about engineering Access databases.

Once the script has been built, you have the opportunity to review and alter it if you need to.  Then, you can run the script immediately as part of the engineer to update your database, or simply save the script file and run it manually.  Saving the script file will also provide you with a record of the changes that have been made to your database.

By default, script files will be stored in the default path specified in your project preferences.
