Specify the physical database that you want to engineer to or from.  Unless you're engineering a Microsoft Access database, this means selecting an ODBC data source.

In the example below, the database that is being reverse-engineered is an Access database.  The direct path to the database has been specified instead of an ODBC data source being selected.  This is the recommended method for engineering Microsoft Access databases.
