Visual Case Tool - UML Tutorial

Welcome to the Visual Case UML tutorial.  The following pages are intended as an introduction to the unified modeling language and design with the UML using Visual Case.  The UML is a very complex and rich language, these pages are just an introduction to some of the more commonly used aspects of the language.

The Unified Modeling Language or UML is is a mostly graphical modelling language that is used to express designs.  It is a standardized language in which to specify the artefacts and components of a software system.  It is important to understand that the UML describes a notation and not a process.  It does not put forth a single method or process of design, but rather is a standardized tool that can be used in a design process.

This tutorial will walk you through the eight diagrams contained in the UML.  Before beginning, you should download the trial version of Visual Case which can be used free of charge for 30 days.
